Elizabeth Cross
The Elizabeth Cross was created in 2009 in order to provide national recognition to the next of kin of service personnel who die on operations or as a result of an act of terrorism, since 1948.
The Crown grants the Elizbeth Cross, together with a Memorial Scroll, to the family of the deceased. This is presented either by the Lord-Lieutenant or a senior member of the Armed Forces, as the family desires.
