Roles & responsibilities
The Lord-Lieutenant is Her Majesty’s personal representative for the County. Their primary duty is to uphold the dignity of the Crown and fulfil key functions. In general, the Lord-Lieutenant will follow the example of The Queen, and other members of the Royal Family, by seeking to promote a good atmosphere and a spirit of co-operation; by the encouragement given to voluntary service, benevolent organisations, local business and to the social life of the County.
